Impact on Campus for Phase 1
  • Temporary road will be striped to allow a
    continuous loop road
  • All parking space losses will be mitigated with
    short term measures (soccer field, loop road)
  • Staff parking in Lot 5 will be relocated, but the
    number of spaces will remain the same.
  • Accessible parking spaces will be relocated, but
    the number of spaces will remain the same.

Impact on Campus Phase 2
  • Loss of 800 Parking Spaces can not be mitigated
    on campus.
  • Will require moving as many faculty, and staff
    off campus as possible and shuttling them to
    campus.
  • Rental Campus vehicles will be available for
    pick ups, meetings, and emergency situations.
  • Working on locating 500 spaces close to campus.
  • Once locations have been identified, shuttles
    will be contracted and information will go out.

Planning Our Parking Priorities
  • Campus parking will be prioritized for students.
  • Parking allocated for staff who have special
    needs or quick turn around requirements.
  • College will work with departments programs to
    identify the staff with special needs.
  • John al-Amins office staff collecting faculty
    staff work hours to assist in determining exact
    needs.
  • Required accessible parking space percentages
    will be maintained, with all accessible spaces
    remaining on campus.

Timelines for Phase 2
  • Move faculty Staff off campus 2/08 during peak
    times, (approximately 7am to 6 pm).
  • Large shuttles during peak times smaller shuttles
    all day.
  • Construction starts 3/08.
  • As student parking needs decline, limited.
    introduction of staff back onto campus
    (lottery?).
  • Move staff back on campus for summer.
  • Move Staff off campus start of fall semester.
  • Free Fridays, staff can park on campus.
