Nouns
  • A noun names a person place or thing.
  • Sometimes an idea.
  • Ex.head shoulders knees and feet.
  • It tells what the subject is.

Pronouns
  • These take the place of peoples names.such as
    he, she, your, his, and me.
  • These also can be a subject noun in a sentence.
  • Will learn later in the year.

Verbs
  • There are two kinds of verbsthe action verb and
    the linking verb.
  • The action verb shows a state of action,such
    asstand,sit,and smile.
  • It tells what the subject is doing.

  • The linking verb is a state of being.
  • Am,is,are,was,and were are examples of linking
    verbs.
  • Look,become,grows,and feels are some more linking
    verbs.
  • A linking verb shows no action.
