19KOKANEE POPULATION STATUS 2007
- Older age classes near reproductive collapse.
- Survival between age classes lowest on record.
- Kokanee fry and age 1 fish still relatively
abundant. - Hatchery egg take very low.
- The need to reduce predation pressure is critical.
20LPO FISHERY RECOVERY
- Unprecedented effort being made to prevent a
kokanee collapse. - Avista funding of over 2 million since 2003 has
made this effort possible. - LT population is declining.
- Critical tipping point for kokanee is 2010.
