SPECIAL THANK YOU Thank you to our parent
chaperones on the field trip to the
Crawfordsville Airport and Crawfordsville Fire
Station. Thank you for attending the Awards
Program. IMPORTANT INFORMATION If you plan
on meeting us to swim on Monday, please meet us
at the gym doors by the Jr. High entrance. Your
child needs to bring a lifejacket, towel, and
swimsuit. Please make sure your child has a
jacket or sweatshirt to wear during recess.
Current Events The children learned about
friendships in different countries in the story
Friends All Around. Some of the countries we
discussed were India, Ireland, Peru, Mexico,
China, and Jamaica. They enjoyed seeing
different cultures and how important friendship
is worldwide. The poem this week was A Pal.
In phonics, our letters were Pp and Nn. The
children enjoyed making paper and straw necklaces
and edible bird nests. We continue to identify
rhyming words, compound words, and counting
syllables in words. We learned about our feelings
this week in Health. The children completed
their feelings booklet. We discussed proper ways
to handle feelings of sadness, anger, and being
scared. In Math, we have focused on position
words, identifying missing numbers, sorting by
size, shape, and color, and ordering numbers
0-10. They enjoy activities using the AB
pattern. Thank you for sending in two rhyming
objects. The children are excited about making
our first classroom book. The objects have been
great! Star Lab was a big hit. The children
enjoyed learning about the constellations and our
solar system. Thank you Mrs. Kochert!
