High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling
  • HiMCM offers students the opportunity to compete
in a team setting using mathematics to solve to
    real-world modeling problems.
  • Open-ended problems are posted on the web and
students spend three days brainstorming and
    developing a solution
  • Teams work on the contest problem at any
available facility and submit their Solution
    Papers to COMAP for judging.
  • Past problems archiveda great resources for
    educators!

6
High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling
  • Why COMAP HiMCM?
  • Deeper understanding of how mathematics is used
    to solve real-world problems
  • Stimulate and improve problem solving skills
  • Develop technical writing
  • Apply research skills
  • Work as part of a team
  • Spark interest in how the world works
