  17th century.
• Popular from the 1920s to'50s. Most popular in
  the '30s.
• 2 stories
• Rectangular, side-gabled mass
• Often symmetrical
• Medium pitched roof
• The upper story in a Garrison-style home is
  typically wood clapboard siding the lower level
  is typically brick or fieldstone.

• Garrison houses are large and have two floors for
  whole families to live in.
• Regular rhythm of window placement
