  use a comma after each item in the series.
• If only two items are listed in a sentence, do
  not use a comma to separate the items.
• Write a conjunction such as and or or before
  the last item in the series. Include a comma
  before the conjunction but not after it We saw
  llamas, zebras, and monkeys.
