Trellis is the national Scottish charity that
supports, promotes, and develops the use of
horticulture to improve health, well-being and
life opportunities for all.

History of Trellis
  • Constituted Jan 2005 registered as a Scottish
    charity company limited by guarantee
  • Board educators, health social services
    professionals, freelance therapists, commercial
    horticulturalists, and voluntary sector workers
    with long connections to therapeutic gardening.
    From all over Scotland.
  • Oldest UK project Scottish (Todhill, 1913).
    Scottish practitioners networking since 1980s.
    Thrive partner in Scotland twice 1990s, 02-06.
  • Post-devolution time for locally-determined
    services, rooted in Scottish context. Backed up
    by 2 evaluations.
