Charter
  • Ensure that commercial telecom service networks
    (including wireless, wireline, satellite and
    cable public telecommunications networks) can
    meet the special needs of public safety
    communications including the means to prioritize,
    as appropriate, public safety usage of commercial
    services during emergencies.
  • Provide Recommendations to prepare networks for
    use by public safety during emergencies.
  • Report on needs and survey results due at
    beginning of December, 2002
  • Report on proactive methods due at beginning of
    March, 2003

Focus Group 1CMission
  • Focus Group 1C will conduct an assessment of the
    commercial communications service needs of the
    Public Safety community, for both day-to-day
    operations and in times of crisis. The Focus
    Group will then perform a gap analysis to
    determine shortfalls, and will make
    recommendations to address these issues.
