Sound Doctrine Is Important Because It Comes From
God
12
Sound Doctrine Is Important Because Not Obeying
It Will Bring Serious Consequences
13
  • Not to obey sound doctrine will result in a
person not having the Father or the Son (II John
    9-11).
  • Not to obey sound doctrine will result in a
person worshiping God in vain (Matthew 157-9).
  • Not to obey sound doctrine will result in a
person being a cursed (Galatians 16-9).
  • Not to obey sound doctrine will result in a
person being lost in eternity (Matthew 721-23).

14
Sound Doctrine Is Important Because It Teaches Us
How To Refute Error
15
Through Sound Doctrine We Can Refute Error
  • Sound doctrine helps us to refute the error of
salvation by faith alone (James 217-26 Gal
    56).
  • Sound doctrine helps us to refute the error of
baptism not being essential to salvation (Mark
    1616 Acts 2216 I Pet. 321).
  • Sound doctrine helps us to refute the error that
babies are born in sin (Ez. 184, 20 Mark
    1014).

16
Through Sound Doctrine We Can Refute Error
  • Sound doctrine helps us to refute the error that
once you are saved, you are always saved (I Co.
    927 Rev. 210 Ga. 54 Js 519-20 2Pt
    221-22 John 152, 6).
  • Sound doctrine helps us to refute the error that
worldliness is acceptable (I John 215-17 He.
    1124-25 Rom. 122 1314 Ga. 516 I Pet.
    211 II Co. 617)
  • Sound doctrine helps us to refute the error that
the Bible is not inspired (2 Ti. 316 2 P.
    120-21).

17
Through Sound Doctrine We Can Refute Error
  • Sound doctrine helps us to refute the error that
the Bible cannot be understood (Eph. 34 517
    John 832).
  • Sound doctrines helps us to refute the error that
Christ is not deity (John 11, 14 858 I John
    520).
  • Sound doctrine helps us to refute the error that
the church is not important (Acts 247
    Colossians 118 Ephesians 122-23 523 14
    Matthew 1618).

18
In order to refute error, we must
19
  • I Thess. 521 Prove all things and hold fast to
    that which is good.
  • II Tim. 215 Study, handling aright the Word of
truth (Gr. Orthotomeo from orthos straight and
temno to cut - lit. to cut straight).
  • II Pet. 318 Grow in the grace and knowledge of
    Jesus Christ.

20
  • Psalms 11997 Love Gods Word.
  • I Pet. 22 Desire the pure milk of the Word.
  • James 15 Pray for wisdom.
  • Acts 1824 Be powerful in the Scriptures.
  • James 122 Most important, be a doer of the Word!

21
What Can The Church Do To Avoid Falling Into
False Doctrine?
22
  • Let us have respect for the authority of the
Scriptures (Colossians 317 II Timothy 113).
  • Let us conform to the simple teachings of the New
    Testament on worship, salvation, etc.
  • Let us study the Bible to be able to handle
aright the Word of truth (II Timothy 215 II
    Peter 318).

23
  • Let us not be deceived by the teachings of men
    (Colossians 28 I John 41).
  • Let us teach on the importance of sound doctrine
    more often (Titus 21).
  • Let us teach on the fundamentals of the faith
(One true church, salvation, worship, etc.) so
that our members may be strong in the Word of
    God.

24
  • What are the blessings of respecting the Word of
    God?

25
Consider These Blessings
  • We will have the Father and the Son with us!
  • We will be able to stay faithful to sound
    teaching!
  • We will be able to show God that we love Him!
  • We will be able to be in heaven some day!

26
  • May God Help Us To Remain Faithful To Sound
    Doctrine!
