Long Form Possessives
These adjectives are typically used when one is
trying to give additional emphasis on to whom the
items belong. ieEl bolígrafo tuyo está
roto. Este libro es mío.

Long Form Possessives
At times, the third person possesive adjectives,
long and short, can be ambiguous. They can be
clarified by using the alternative form of de
and the prepositional pronoun . ieEl bolígrafo
de ella está roto. Este libro de él es grande.

Nominalizing Possessives
These adjectives can be nominalized (made into
pronouns) by putting a definite article
(el/la/los/las) in front of them. ieElla tiene
el suyo. EXCEPT after a form of SER the definite
article is typically left out. ieEse bolígrafo
es tuyo.
