• There are 2 ways to express possession in
  English.
• Use s to show an item belongs to a specific
  person
• Ex. Marias sweater
• 2. Use a possessive adjective
• Ex. my sweater
• Instead of adding s to the owner, Spanish uses
  this formula
• Possession de owner
• Ex. El suéter de Maria

Here are the possessive adjectives in Spanish

• My mi, mis
• Your (fam.s.)- tu, tus
• Your (Form.s.)-
• su, sus
• His, her, its, their- su, sus

• Our nuestro, nuestra, nuestros, nuestras
• Your (fam.pl.) vuestro, vuestra, vuestros,
  vuestras
• Your (form.pl.)
• su, sus

Examples
His book su libro His books sus libros Our
book nuestro libro Our books nuestros
libros Therefore, su libro could mean his book,
her book, their book or your book. Of course,
Spanish has a way to specify each of these!

• De él his
• De ella her
• De usted your (form. S.)
• De ustedes your (you alls)

• De mí my
• De ti your (fam. Sing.)

Es el libro de ella. Its her book. Es la
chaqueta de ellos. Its their jacket. Es la
