  • RAM and Swap Space

  • Apply 10g interoperability patch 4332078 for
    11.5.10
  • Install 10.1.0.3 RDBMS Software
  • Install Oracle Database 10g Products from the 10g
    Companion CD
  • Upgrade OUI version to 2.2 by applying patch
    4017155 to 10G OH
  • Perform 10.1.0.4 patch set pre-installation tasks
  • Set ORACLE_HOME (OH) to 10G Directory
  • Make sure that SID is set accordantly
  • Stop APPS Services
  • Shutdown Oracle Database

  • Perform 10.1.0.4 patch set installation tasks
  • Create nls/data/9idata directory
  • Apply Oracle Patching Tool (OPatch) 2617419 to
    10G OH
  • Apply MLR for certification of 10.1.0.4 DB with
    11i patch 4359526 to 10G OH
  • Unset the TNS_ADMIN environment variable
  • Upgrade the database instance by running dbua
    program
  • You can ignore RAC and Spatial errors during
    upgrade

Upgrade Steps (ML ID 282038.1 )
  • Increase size of TEMP tablespace to at least 4GB
  • Gather statistics for SYS schema
  • Copy APPL_TOP/admin/adstats.sql to
    OH/rdbms/admin
  • Connect to SQLPLUS as sysdba
  • Shutdown DB normal
  • Startup DB restrict
  • Execute adstats.sql
  • Shutdown normal
  • Startup db again
  • Start the new database listener
  • Copy 9i TNS_ADMIN admin directory to 10G OH
  • Update listener.ora, tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora
    files
  • Start listener

  • copy APPL_TOP/admin/adgrants.sql to
    OH/rdbms/admin
  • run sqlplus "/ as sysdba" _at_adgrants.sql APPLSYS
  • Implement and run AutoConfig
  • Run as applmgr perl AD_TOP/bin/admkappsutil.pl
  • Copy appsutil.zip to OH
  • As Oracle User cd OH and unzip -o appsutil.zip
  • Copy from 9i OH .env file and .xml file
  • Update .env and .xml files to reflect new OH
  • Source environment
  • Cd to OH/appsutil/bin
  • Run adbldxml.sh tierdb appsuserapps
    appspasswdapps
  • Run adconfig.sh contextfile.xml appspassapps

  • Re-create grants and synonyms
  • Login as applmgr user
  • Use adadmin to re-create grants and synonyms
  • Create PFILE out of SPFILE
  • Connect to DB as SYSDBA
  • Execute create pfile from spfile'spfileSID.ora'
  • Update initVIS.ora file to reflect new
    environment
  • Rename or delete SPFILE
  • Bounce DB
  • Remove Listener security from sqlnet.ora file
  • Compile remaining invalid objects using adadmin
  • Move or delete 9i OH
  • Start Application Services

  • Test Login into Apps
  • Make sure CC Managers started Normal
  • Submit a test CC request
  • Login into OAM and check OWF Services
  • Have Users Test System

  • Read latest 11i DB Interoperability Notes
  • Crete Patch Plan
  • Make sure to analyze all pre-reqs
  • Download and extract all required patches
  • Perform upgrade on Test System
  • Make sure to time upgrade
  • Resolve all issues before go live
  • Have users test and signoff upgrade
