Voter Turnout in the US

• The US is one of the lowest voting democracies,
  with a voter registration of 67.5 and a 51.3
  actual turnout.

Spain

• This past election in Spain was a monumental one.
  The socialist party won the election after
  defeating the conservative Popular Party.
• Three days after the terrorist attacks in Madrid,
  Luis Rodriguez Zapatero won the election for
  Prime Minister (head of government) promising
  that his government would commit to fighting
  terror.
• The voter turnout in this past election was in
  upwards of 76
• The chief of state is King Juan Carlos I

Mexico

• In the year 2000, this country became the highest
  voting democracy in the world, when Vicente Fox
  defeated the PRIs 72 year power regime.
• There was over 78 of voter turnout in the
  Presidential election of 2000

Government in India

• India is somewhat similar to the US in their
  government system. Here, an electoral college
  consisting of members elected to participate in
  the Parliament and the legislatures but there is
  also a prime Minister that is selected by voters
  of the majority party in the Parliament.

• In Lebanon, traditionally speaking, the president
  of the country has to be a Maronite Christian,

  of the house a Shia Muslim.
