  • Here, we will compare and see how some of the
    other world countries handle their elections.
    Whether they are major players in the world or
    small states, each country manages the electoral
    process differently.

Voter Turnout in the US
  • The US is one of the lowest voting democracies,
    with a voter registration of 67.5 and a 51.3
    actual turnout.

Spain
  • This past election in Spain was a monumental one.
    The socialist party won the election after
    defeating the conservative Popular Party.
  • Three days after the terrorist attacks in Madrid,
    Luis Rodriguez Zapatero won the election for
    Prime Minister (head of government) promising
    that his government would commit to fighting
    terror.
  • The voter turnout in this past election was in
    upwards of 76
  • The chief of state is King Juan Carlos I
