Vision/Mission
  • The Saint Louis University Libraries envision
    themselves as a supportive service to the
    transformative educational process of SLU and are
    committed to providing expedient and effective
    access to high quality library services,
    collections in a variety of formats and
    information resources designed to meet the
    curriculum, research, professional, intellectual,
    creative and personal needs of the SLU community.

Grey Literature
  • Theses and dissertations can be borrowed for room
    use only.
  • A written permission from the author of the
    unpublished material should be secured by the
    graduate student, if he/she wishes to photocopy
    other contents aside from the abstract.
  • The Library Working Scholar will accompany the
    graduate student in photocopying abstracts of
    theses/dissertations in any photocopying center
    in the library.

Access Services
  • Faculty
  • A faculty can borrow a maximum of ten (10) books
    in the library for their use during the entire
    semester subject to recall anytime when the need
    arises. He/She should present his/her official
    class schedule.
  • Non-teaching Personnel
  • Non-teaching personnel may borrow three (3)
    books at a time with a maximum loan period of
    three (3) days.

  • Multimedia Collection
  • A written communication should be given by the
    concerned faculty member to the Director of
    Libraries indicating the time and date of
    viewing.
  • The Library Working Scholar will bring the needed
    CD-ROMs to the assigned viewing room and will
    retrieve the materials after viewing.

  • Textbook Collection
  • A faculty member can avail of the service of this
    section according to his official teaching load.
  • The faculty member should accomplish the form
    provided by the Textbook Section.
  • The textbooks borrowed by the faculty member are
    free of charge.

Library Borrowers Card
  • Schedule of Issuance
  • Any time during office hours
  • A lost borrowers card should be reported
    immediately to the person-in-charge at the 5th
    floor of the library building
  • A fee of Php40.00 is charged for the replacement
    of a lost borrowers card. A borrowers card is
    non-transferable.

Library Charges
  • Accomplished acknowledgment forms of unreturned
    books will be forwarded to the Accounting Office
    for necessary charging.
  • Lost books must be paid according to the value
    determined by the library or be replaced with a
    copy of the same title.
  • Processing fee and any accumulated fines will be
    charged.
  • Library books damaged beyond repair must be
    replaced with the same title.

Clearance
  • At the end of the semester, all loaned books must
    be returned to the section head assigned in the
    5th floor of the library building.
  • Upon returning borrowed books, the faculty member
    should secure a clearance from the Section Head
    assigned in the 5th floor of the library building
    .
  • General clearance must be secured from the Office
    of the Director of Libraries.
