The 2003 Skills USA VICA North Central Region
Fall Leadership Conference
SkillsUSA-VICA officers from the North
Central Region gathered for their Fall Leadership
Conference at the Central Ky. Technical College
in Lexington, Ky. on October 24 and 25 for a
series of workshops, contests and elections.  
Workshop topics were, Teamwork and Conflict
Resolution led by Mark Sims, Harrison Co. ATC
Officer Training with Roc Moore, Harrodsburg ATC
and John Marks, Central Ky. Technical College
and Marketing led by Tim Thornberry, Department
for Technical Education.  Those students
chosen as regional officers included President
Shawn Workman, Madison Co ATC Vice President
Sarah Ward, J.D. Patton ATC Secretary Daniel
McKinney, C.E. McCormick ATC Treasurer Justin
Vanhinkle, Harrodsburg ATC Reporter Adam
Gritton, Harrodsburg ATC Parliamentarian Philip
Frommeyer, J.D. Patton ATC Historian Josh
Rayburn, Harrison Co ATC and Chaplin/Alternate
David Phillips, Harrodsburg ATC.

Contests winners included Prepared Speech
first place, Wenestah Collins, Carroll Co ATC and
second place Brittany Demarcus, J.D. Patton ATC.
Extemporaneous Speaking first place David
Phillips, Harrodsburg ATC second place April
Townsend, Clark Co ATC and third place Philip
Frommeyer, J.D. Patton ATC. Opening/Closing
Team first place Harrodsburg ATC, PM Chapter
second place Madison Co ATC, Chapter Team and
third place Harrodsburg ATC, AM Chapter.
Promotional Bulletin Board first place Kelli
Skelton, C.E. McCormick ATC second place Jessie
Hitchner, Boone Co ATC and third place Sara
Siefert/Sarah Ward, J.D. Patton ATC. The
two-day event was highlighted by a dance on the
first night with an awards presentation and
officer elections held the following morning.
