Artist Statement
  • In life there are good times and bad, and not
everything works out the way we plan. People
change, move on, get hurt and make mistakes. Most
things are out of our control. Art is my release
from all of my problems. It is something that I
have complete control of and no one can ever
change that. When I look back onto my journey
through art it all conveys a message from deep
inside me. It helps me realizes who I am, who I
long to be, and what my beliefs on all things in
    life are.
  • So far, my friends are my biggest inspiration,
for they are the ones who helped me become who I
am today. In the beginning, art was just
something I did in my spare time but now its my
life. In almost every piece, I try to express a
quality that most people dont notice something
that will open my viewers eyes to new aspects of
life. When I achieve that knowledge of knowing
that people can understand if they really try,
thats all I could ever ask for.
  • Growing up I moved many times and never thought
art would be such a huge part of my life. For my
future, I dream of becoming a professional
photographer. I want people to realize that true
beauty comes from the inside. Most people can
look at something or someone and say. oh how
pretty, but rarely do people take the chance to
go to the next step to realize the true meaning
that someone or something is trying to express.
The fear of making a wrong choice shouldnt keep
us from trying to achieve our goal. Its being
positive about the choices we make that will help
us reach our goals in the end. Without taking all
those risks of messing up, I wouldnt be where I
am today. At the end it will always be worth the
    effort.

  • This is my elongated self portrait. I really
loved doing this. I used green for my face cause
its my favorite color. I used red and purple for
my hair cause it contrasted and then polka dots
in the background cause they are fun and it
    reminded me of my room.

5
  • This is my clay relief. Its a painting from
history that I recreated in 3D.The painting is
named The Rehearsal done by Edgar Degas in
1871.The original was done in oils and mine is in
acrylic. I really enjoyed this one.

6
  • The particular piece was one of my
favorites. Its a stippling pen and ink of Matt
Wayne Whitlow. At the time this he was my
boyfriend. The shirt was a challenge. I was
really amazed with how it turned out cause this
was the first time I had done pen and ink. I also
love drawing people or just realistic objects in
    general.

7
  • I really loved this project mainly because I
play the guitar. The hands are plastered and on
them they say no lies just love which pretty much
spumes it up. The guitar is made of cardboard and
paper- Mache. I painted the guitar blue so it
kind of looks the sky at night and put different
colored stars everywhere. Also I made ribbon like
piece with piano keys and my thought are writing
on the keys. The project meant a lot to me for it
    described a part of me.

  • Before finishing my mono-print I thought I
was going to quit. I love doing realist things,
but Im not so good with animals. I was really
surprised with how it turned out. I was kind of
scared when I used white paper to print it on
cause I wasnt sure if the whiskers would show up
but if you look close enough you can see them. I
didn't want to you colors paper cause it tends to
make it blur and I worked to hard on getting the
painting exactly the way I wanted it for it to be
    messed up.

9
  • This is my color theory project. At first I
didnt know what to do so I started to think if
something that could be colorful so I used MnMs
except I used different colors and gave them all
there own personal style so none of them are
    exactly alike just like people.

10
  • This is called Tromp Loeil Personal Still
Life. Its were you draw the shadows that you see.
This was and okay project. I just got really
bored with it. I made it work together so that
your eye moves around. I love the way the comb
turned out. Overall I think that it turned okay.

11
  • This is my Portrait in an usual perspective.
Its not of me its my friend Nancy Perez. Shes
    10. The picture is unusual cause her feet are the
biggest thing in that picture mainly because they
are closest to you. This was not one of my
favorite project but in the end it was okay.

  • This picture is a picture from my photography
project out of every picture I took. The texture
in it was amazing and I love the view. Also her
    facial expression was just great.
