  • Expansion of information exchange between
    research and education networks
  • Improving the access to the knowledgebase and
    scientific databases

    Performance Computing Center - Armcluster
  • Good and reliable Internet connectivity
  • Good collaboration with world scientific centers

Solution
  • Implement the Project/Idea - a Consortium of
    Armenian National Research and Education Networks
    (CAMNREN), that be founded including the major
    constituents of the Armenian NRENs
  • Creation of National interconnection network that
    connecting the research and education
    institutions and all NRENs into a single
    high-speed network with 10 Gigabit backbone.

Configuration of equipment for the POP
  • POP type 1
  • The configuration is based on a switch rack with
    4 extension slots Cisco Catalyst 6504-E, 4-slot
    chassis and a control card Supervisor Engine 32
    with two 10G ports. Maximal throughput of the bus
    is 32Gbps.
  • POP type 2
  • Configuration is based on a switch rack with 6
    extension slots Enhanced Catalyst 6506 chassis
    (6-slots) and a control card Supervisor 720
    Fabric MSFC3 PFC3B. This configuration has a
    module with four 10G ports. Maximal throughput of
    this configuration is 720 Gbps.
