Improvements on water cooling of FEE
  • Easier, safer connections at manifold in/out
  • Proven procedure for changing sectors

  • Pressure gauges at FEE in/out
  • Flow meters in both branches
  • Flow can be controlled by bypass
  • Optimized alarm settings and timing
  • Test no leakage if a silicon hose is disconnected

  • Seem to diminish with time
  • Anodes with poor contact, leading to neighbors
    with higher gain?
  • Under further investigation (today)

Gate closure
  • Tested with high amplitude laser tracks (laser
    intensity x4) and higher gas gain
  • At extreme values, gate leakage barely visible
    (gate 90 V)
  • Quantitative interpretation difficult (laser
    non-linear), but order 10-4
  • In OROC 13, gate has a leak
  • Probably one floating wire (of 900)
  • still under study
