Delivering time for the undulators 26 February

Water Cooling
  • All joints to the coil conductor (water and
    current connections) must be brazed.
  • The coil will be cooled with demineralised water
    (specific resistance 106Ocm)
  • The inlet temperature of the cooling water is
    30C
  • The maximum flow velocity of the water must be
    below 2 m/s.

  • Water connectors samples sent to SCANDITRONIX
  • for manufacturing the rest of them.
  • - 56 Nipples
    size 13mm (28 coils x 2 undulators)
  • - 4 Nipples
    size 19 mm
  • 60 Thermo switches received from DESY and will be
    send to SCANDITRONIX
  • Rubber tubes (HOST) with sizes of 13 and 19 mm
    will be send from DESY to SCANDITRONIX as soon as
    the last know the exact length.

Power Supply
  • The two coils at the respective end of the
    undulator should be powered by independent power
    supplies
  • Scanditronix will borrow power supply for another
    company to performed the tests. ?
  • Scanditronix can power the upper and lower yoke
    in parallel to meet the upper limit of 0.5T ?.

Field Tests
  • Let us name the peak field in the 10 equal poles
    Bo. The field in the outmost entrance pole B1,
    second outmost pole B2 and the field in the
    outmost exit pole B3.From the start B1 and B3
    should be tuned to ¼Bo and B2 to ¾Bo.
  • All measurements according below should be done
    with Bo 0.1 0.2 0.3 0.4 and 0.5T
  • Field tests at DESY (week 13-15)
  • Measuring
  • - coil Upper right
  • - only one component- vertical
  • Measuring the field across a pole at DESY at
  • 0.1T, 0.2T, 0.3T, 0.4T and 0.5T
  • - longitudinal step 2mm and
  • - positions X 15 mm, 0, and -15mm
  • The manufacturer of the undulator must state
  • Which iron he will use ?
  • The remanence ?
  • Coercive force ?
  • saturation must ?
