ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Awadhesh Pratap Singh University is a
teaching-cum-affiliating university with
jurisdiction over 150 colleges in Rewa, Satna,
Sidhi, Shahdol, Umariya, and Singrauli districts.
Further, Captain Awadhesh Pratap Singh, a
distinguished son of the soil and a freedom
fighter inspired the University's name. Moreover,
The university was founded on July 20, 1968, and
received UGC recognition in February 1972. Above
all, It is a member of the Association of Indian
Universities (AIU) as well as the All
Commonwealth Association of Universities (ACAU).

CAMPUS
Awadhesh Pratap Singh University is situated on a
246.20-acre plot of land about 5 kilometres north
of Rewa City, with its campus on either side of
the Rewa-Sirmour Road. Above all, The University
complex includes the departments of Environmental
Biology, Physics, Science Block, Humanities Block
(including its extension), Ambedkar Bhawan (Hindi
Department), MBA Department, Vikram Space Physics
Centre, USIC, Central Library, Antarbharti, Arjun
Chhatra Griha, Guest House, Yoga Hall Hostels for
boys and girls, Auditorium, and Stadium. There
are also Allahabad Bank, Employment Bureau, and
Indian Post Office branches on campus, as well as
a medical dispensary. Further, It also has a
small meteorological observatory, and plans for a
seismological observatory are in the works.

ACTIVITIES
National Service Schemes The NSS is
supported by the Indian government's Ministry of
Human Resource Development. It is focused on
volunteer social service and strives to help
people develop their personalities through
community service. Literacy drives, health care
and immunisation, blood donation, environmental
development projects, tree planting, and
maintaining the NSS Book Bank are just some of
the activities that NSS volunteers participate
in. University Press The press was founded in
1981 with financial aid from the state
government. as well as UGC The University Press
serves as a service department for the university.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Hostels The campus has three boy's hostels and
three girl's hostels. In addition, the students
on a cooperative basis manage the mess.

Dr. Hemant Khandai, Dr. Sunil K. Snehi, and Dr.
Kapil Soni are the Wardens of the Boys Hostel. Dr
Anita Dhurvey, Dr Roopali Shevalkar, and Dr
Vinisha Singh is the warden of the girls'
dormitory. Library The Awadhesh Pratap Singh
University has a large library with about 75,000
books, 5,703 theses, 3000 research journals, and
60 Sanskrit MSS. Moreover, the library has 15
daily newspapers and 12 weekly newspapers, as
well as various monthly publications and
journals. To provide a favourable setting for
research academics, it features distinct
reference and thesis sections.

The library includes an extensive collection of
rare reference and text materials in all major

INFRASTRUCTURE
Bio information Center During 2002-2003, the
Department of Biotechnology launched the
Bioinformatics Centre, one of the Sub-DICs within
the BTIS Network, which was financed by the
Department of Biotechnology, Government of India,
New Delhi. Obviously, the centre's main goals are
to provide computing resources and fundamental
bioinformatics training to students, academics,
and faculty in the biological sciences. In
addition to the field of Bioinformatics, it
offers services such as Internet access, online
literature searches, hardware and software
installation, data analysis, and projects and
dissertations.
