Title: Page 50 Barchu and Maariv Aravim

1
In the first blessing before the Shema, we
recognize G-ds presence in nature and the beauty
of the cycle of time and the onset of evening.

Ahavat Olam Page 52
In the 2nd blessing before the Shema we sing of
G-ds everlasting love for us. G-d shows love
for us by giving us the guidance of teachings and
commandments.
3
After proclaiming that there is one G-d in the
words of the Shema we continue with the
commandment to love G-d and guidance on how to
fulfill this commandment. We show our love for
G-d by teaching Torah to our children, speaking
words of Torah night and day, when at home and
when away. We show our love for G-d by wearing
tefillin and putting mezzuzot on the doors of
our homes.

In this paragraph of the Shema we are reminded of
the commandment to wear tzitzit and that it was
G-d who brought us from slavery to freedom.

In the first blessing after the Shema, we sing
the song that the children of Israel sang when
they crossed the Sea of Reeds and witnessed the
awesome power of G-d. We praise G-d as our
redeemer.
6
In the second blessing after the Shema, we pray
to G-d to spread his tabernacle of peace over us,
our people and the city of Jerusalem.

Words from the Book of Exodus that remind us of
the commandment to observe Shabbat. In each an
every generation the Shabbat is a sign of the
covenant between G-d and G-ds people.

We magnify and sanctify G-ds name in the
Kaddish. This prayer serves as a divider between
the Shema and its blessings and the Amida.

Words from the Book of Genesis that remind us of
the creation of the world. In six days G-d
created the world and on the seventh day G-d
rested. We too, work for six days and on the
special day of Shabbat we reflect upon all that
we have made and all the G-d has made.

We recognize our responsibility to stand before
G-d and praise G-ds name. We hope that someday
soon all will come to understand that there is
just one G-d and to that G-d our knee must bend.
15
Page 120 Last Part of Aleinu
In the words of the prophet Zacharia It will
come to pass that one day G-d will reign over all
the earth. On that day G-d will be one and G-ds
name will be one.
