  • This is the 1st part of the 2 parts on Banner 7
    Customization topic.
  • Create a personalized menu with My Banner.
  • Customizing My Links.

My Banner
You can access My Banner from the Main Menu. My
Banner can include forms, jobs, menus, and
QuickFlows that are most important in your daily
work.
To customize My Banner, use the My Banner
Maintenance Form (GUAPMNU)

Type in or double click on the GUAPMNU to open
the My Banner Maintenance Form
Type in or double click on the GUAPMNU to open up
the My Banner Maintenance Form

By default you have only one object in My
Banner.
  • In this example we will be adding -
  • a Menu Object
  • a form
  • a report
  • that looks like below

My BannerGUAPMNU General Steps to Add Object
Step 1 Use the pull-down list to select the
object type you want to display.
Step 2 Select each object you want to add to the
menu by doubling clicking. When selected, the
name is hightlighted or changed color. Repeat
steps 1 and 2 for each object type you want to
add to the menu. Note You can select objects
from multiple object types (e.g, a form, and a
menu) and insert them all at one time.
Step 3 Click the Insert Selection Button.
Step 4 Click Save

2. Click on the Query button
  • 3 ways to add objects to My Banner -
  • Scroll through the object list to find what you
    want to add.
  • Enter the name of the object
  • Query the object list to narrow your search
  • In this example, we will be using 3 Query.

1. Click cursor here
3. Enter the search criteria and press F8. You
can use wildcard and _. Capitalization
matters. Data matched against the search
criteria exactly as you enter them.

After executing Query function (F8), it lists the
matching object. To add this object to the right
pane, double click on the object. It should
change color or highlight. Click in the right
pane where you want to place the new menu item.
Then click the Insert Selection button in the
middle of the form.

4. Click Save button to commit changes

In this example, we will be using option 1 which
is selecting object from list. This option may
involve scrolling through the list.
1. Select Oracle Form type from the pull-down
list

Double-click to hightlight object.
3. Click the Insert Selection button.

In this example, we will be using option 2,
entering the name of the object if you know the
objects name. Note If you do not have access
privilege to the item, you will not be able to
list the item.
1. Enter the forms name in a blank field in the
right pane

2. Press Enter. The objects type, description,
and name appear in the right pane
3. Save to commit before exit GUAPMNU form

Important! You must logout Banner 7 before the
changes take effect. Exit Log back in . . . .

The new menu items added in your My Banner menu

My BannerGUAPMNU Delete object from My Banner
Press Save button before exiting form.
Select an object you want to delete by
double-clicking it. When you select an object,
the name is hightlighted.
Click the Delete Selection button. The selected
object is deleted.
Clicking this Delete All button resulting the
removal all objects in the right pane.
