Key Path of Player Path of Ball
  • Organization
  • Field 80 x 60. Blue team begins in a
    1-3-3-2 formation passing and free movement
  • Coach starts the practice from sideline
  • Objective to work the ball to the opposing
    goalkeeper after every player has touched the
    ball. Free play no opposition.
  • Progressions
  • Touch limitations individually and zonal
  • Players must find specific players to begin the
    attacking sequence- Midfielder/ forward
  • Players must perform a specific combination
    before finding the opposing goalkeeper- Overlap
    (see opposite) /switch/ takeover/wall pass
  • Add in 3 opposing players down the spine of the
    team

  • Organization
  • Field 80x60 Team 1 begins in a 1-3-3-2
  • Red team scores in goal, blue by hitting
    red GK Coach has 3 numbered red attackers who
    are unopposed until ball is played over dotted
    line He calls out a
    number and the blue team defend accordingly. Blue
    players are passive and will allow the red team
    to play through them.
  • Progressions
  • Red team have 1 ball each and they attack when
    their number is called, blue1 adjusts to close
    down the ball and defender red3
  • Red team have 1 ball and look to switch play to
    create space to attack
  • Add 1 then 2 forwards that red players can play
    to
  • Add red central midfielder
  • Add in remainder of red midfield
  • Take away safety line
  • Blue play high up the field as the blue forwards
    are closing down the attacking red team to create
    an opportunity to steal the ball and transition
    to attack
