PROBLEM Linda is in charge of scheduling the
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to work the
hours of 900 am to 700 pm, Monday thru Friday
and 900 am to 400 pm on Saturday. Can you help
her schedule the three CNAs? The office does not
close for lunch.
Ben works 40 hours a week, he doesnt want to
work on Saturdays, and needs to go home at 330
pm on Wednesday and Fridays to pick up the
baby. Alex works 16 hours a week. He has signed
up for two classes at the local university. His
classes are Tuesday and Thursday 800 am 1000
am and Monday, Wednesday and Friday 400 pm
600 pm. Victoria works 12 hours a week. She
gets out of school at 230 pm everyday, but she
has piano lessons on Wednesday afternoons after
school until 400 pm. She also is a volunteer at
the local Assisted Living Center each Monday
after school. How do you figure out when
everyone can work? How do you start the
scheduling process? On the next three pages are
three forms that can be used to figure their work
schedules.
