  • To act as the recognised liaison point between
    statutory and voluntary services in mental
    health, developing our role as equal partners in
    service delivery
  • Marketing the sector
  • To demonstrate and publicise the efficiency and
    effectiveness of the Derbyshire mental health
    voluntary sector to potential investors and
    partners

    best use of premises, equipment and staff

SO1 Liaison
  • S01.1
  • Lobby for recurrent funding of existing voluntary
    sector services where these have been evaluated
    positively

  • This is ongoing work. We have received some
    additional funding under Full Cost recovery for
    three organisations this year

  • Lobby for transparent procurement of all new
    mental health services both for those which
    will be recurrently funded, and for pilot schemes

  • Both the new Dual Diagnosis Service and the
    Primary Care service package will be procured
    transparently

  • Ensure democratically elected voluntary sector
    representatives sit on the sub-groups of Mental
    Health Strategic Commissioning Group

    them to keep the voluntary sector information up
    to date and ensuring it is available to all

  • Develop a section of the website specifically for
    local voluntary sector news and promote to a wide
    range of partners

  • Website has been out of action for a short
    while following staff changes now operational
    and this will be a key area for action in
    2008-2009

  • Use Fit for Purpose report to demonstrate
    standards already in place to the range of
    partner agencies

  • Report promoted at Mental Health Strategic
    Commissioning Group in December 2007 and to a
    range of other agencies

    BME services to statutory providers and
    commissioners

    Steering Group and Annual DRE Event to showcase
    the sector

    sessions to members on key policy areas,

  • Training has been limited this year. The new
    staff post will concentrate on this area of work

    Outcomes champion

  • BUT, we have arranged for the delivery of
    outcomes training for Day Services projects in
    conjunction with commissioners
  • Target will be transferred to Training and

    employing organisations to understand and achieve

    organisational governance identified in
    recommendations of Fit For Purpose report

    website. The new training and Development Officer
    will be able to target information to where it is
    most needed

    highlight areas of need and to organise training
    where none exists elsewhere

    find a new way of collecting information about
    training needs

  • Develop a Racial Equality Framework and action
    plan for SDVSMHF

  • Plan in place all staff now receive equality
    and diversity training and is routinely
    incorporated into supervision and project
    planning

  • Develop good practice guidelines for service
    provision to people from BME communities for our
    member organisations and deliver relevant
    training through the Delivering Race Equality
    action plan

  • This work is one of the priorities for our new
    Trainer Co-ordinator

    Infrastructure Organisations and lobby for
    inclusivity proofing of all infrastructure
    development projects

  • Promote Forum membership to mental health
