What is a CETL?

  • HEFCE have funded 74 CETLs at 54 different
    centres (315m)
  • wide range of subjects/themes
  • 5 years - 2005 - 2010

What is our CETL proposal?

  • Aims to
  • enrich student learning
  • harness expertise
  • establish a comprehensive staff reward
    programme
  • achieve improvement in the student learning
    experience and achievement by building on and
    extending the collaborative development, use and
    integration of high quality RLOs

  • And how will we achieve that?
  • Implement a structured framework for producing a
    critical mass of quality-assured RLOs
  • Share and evaluate these RLOs with 1500 students
    per year across the three institutions
  • Invest substantially in rewarding and extending
    the skills and capabilities of staff as a key
    part of the RLO production process
  • Engage in a vigorous programme of dissemination,
    and build value-added partnerships for the
    exchange of RLOs

    resource based on a single learning objective
    (UCeL, 2004)

  • Generative Learning Objects (GLOs)
  • Adaptable to suit individual need
