  • Essentially the same as 2001
  • - RA1 (staff details, category A,B,C,D)

RAE2008 submissions
  • We will encourage HEIs to submit the work of
    all their excellent researchers.
  • Take account of .early career researchers .
  • We will not collect . information about staff
    who have not been included
  • No category A staff
  • Sub-panels will assess role and contribution of
    category C staff

but institutions to make individualised staff
return to HESA

RAE2008 outputs
  • Maximum outputs submitted (up to 4) to be
    determined by sub-panels ( agreed with panels)
  • If sub-panels consider volume of output is
    significant . It should say how this will be
    taken into account

RAE2008 criteria assessment
  • .. any variation in criteria between
    sub-panels is in keeping with the extent to which
    research approaches and methods vary between
    disciplines
  • Sub-panels may request via the RAE team referral
    of all or parts of submissions to another
    sub-panel or specialist advisors
  • ensure that interdisciplinary research is
    assessed by people best placed to assess it

  • Up to 13 suggested sections (groups, fit,
    strategy, infrastructure, support, development,
