  • Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an imaging
    technique that utilizes radioactive substances
    such as radiotracers to visualize and measure the

    emission-computed tomography (SPECT) scans and

    human body. It is basically a nuclear imaging
    test which uses a radioactive material and
    produces 3D images as required. Unlike X-Rays,
    SPECT scan has the ability to produce images that
    can depict how the organs are working. SPECT scan
    is majorly used to diagnoze or monitor the brain
    disorders, cardiac and bone ailments. This scan
    is proven to be very useful in diagnosing
    dementia, clogged blood vessels, epilepsy, head
    injuries as well as cardiac disorders like

  • Planar Scintigraphy Imaging Systems use
    radiotracers that generate gamma decays which
    basically generate one photon in random direction
    at a time. Planar scintigraphy captures photons
    in one direction only, somewhat similar to X-Ray
    and determine the radioactivity distribution in
    the body. It is generally used to scan the
    structures inside the body, including those areas
    where cancerous cells are present.
