then delivered over the internet on users search
requests to make the respective websites

Linux-based, is the most common and the most
economical web hosting option. In it, a single
server is shared by multiple websites. Hence,
multiple websites are hosted on the same server.
These websites share the resources of the same
server, based on their individual plans. The
amount of server resources that a website has
access to in shared hosting depends on the limit
of the hosting package that has been availed.
  • Shared hosting is an ideal web hosting option for
    the following-

traffic, or are small to medium-size

  • VPS is the abbreviation for Virtual Private
Server. This type of web hosting is designed to
deliver a dedicated server environment within a
shared server. Its popularity stems from the fact
that it usually costs less than a dedicated
server but is more reliable than shared hosting
and delivers enhanced security and performance
    when compared to shared hosting.
  • In VPS, a physical server has multiple sections
    that are virtually-partitioned. Hence, despite
sharing the physical server, each VPS has its own
environment and receives a fixed amount of
resources. VPS hosting can be managed or
    self-managed.

Reseller Hosting
  • Reseller hosting is a type of web hosting
service, wherein the resources, such as disk
space and bandwidth, that are received by a
reseller are sold by him to other end users at
prices decided by the reseller. Hence, in this
type of hosting the reseller acts as a hosting
service provider for those who avail his
    services.

    for the following-
  • Those that want to earn money

    complexities involved in web hosting
  • For businesses that are already in the web
    industry

13
The Pros and Cons of Reseller Hosting
  • Pros- There are numerous advantages of reseller
hosting. These benefits include earning profits
at minimal expenditure, avoiding the usual
hassles of web hosting along with
    maintenance-related issues etc.
  • Con- The main drawback of reseller hosting has to
do with the fact that if anything goes wrong with
the hosting service provider of the reseller,
then the resellers service will suffer. If the
resellers web hosts servers are down frequently
then the reseller might lose his clients along
