A young girl should know her body
  • Every month a girls womb/uterus prepares for a
    baby and once girls decide to wait to become mom
    till the right time - every month girls womb
    kind of let go each month and there is bleeding
    for four to five days in a month.
  • It is a very normal process. Its called
    menstruation cycle in girls
  • The young girls do not have to be scared as
    bleeding happens once a month
  • It starts at the age of 11-13 and continue till
    50-55

All girls have mothers womb
  • In menstruation, a woman's body goes through in
    preparation for a possible of pregnancy.
  • Each month, ovaries releases an egg (a process
    called ovulation). At the same time, hormonal
    changes prepare the uterus for pregnancy. If
    ovulation takes place and the egg isn't
    fertilized, the lining of the uterus sheds
    through the vagina.
  • This is when bleeding happens, which is called
    menstrual period.

  • There are many types of menstrual disorders,
    including
  • Abnormal, excessive or prolonged menstrual
    bleeding
  • Absence of menstrual bleeding
  • Light or infrequent menstruation
  • Noncancerous uterine tumours
  • Physical and emotional discomfort prior to
    menstruation
  • In such a case girl can visit a gynaecologist

She should keep a check on,
  • Time length of her period. Is it longer or
    shorter than usual?
  • Flows heaviness. Is it lighter or heavier than
    usual? How often she changes her sanitary
    protection? Are there any blood clots?
  • Abnormal bleeding. Is she bleeding in between
    periods?
  • Pain associated with period. Is the pain
    unusually worse?
  • Other changes, like in mood or behavior? Did
    anything new happen around the time of change in
    periods?

Girl during periods can take care by
  1. Exercising and practicing yoga and meditation
  2. Have a high nutritional diet. E.g. her diet
    should be rich in iron otherwise because of
    bleeding there can be a risk of anaemia
  3. Avoiding caffeine-containing foods and beverages,
    such as chocolate, coffee, tea and soft drinks.
    Because they can worsen symptoms such as anxiety
  4. Maintaining hygiene and use of anti-bacterial
    soap and solutions
