5 Introductory Tips for an Effective Plant Health
Care
2
Providing effective plant care can be easier than
raising kids. Both the duties have some
similarities to share. Placing strong roots is
like building a nice home environment, removing
unwanted weeds is keeping away bad company,
providing extra care at the infant stage,
offering continuous support and independence as
they grow mature, and finding the perfect balance
between proper nutrition and growth is guiding
your kid to lead a successful life. These
similarities account to some of the essential
care your young plants need at the time of birth
and growth.
3
Prepare The Perfect Environment
Inserting a good and healthy soil before planting
is the basic preparation you need to come up
with. Loosen soil to 6 inches at least, add some
organic matter such as compost, manure, etc., and
then mix thoroughly. At the end rake the ground
to level.
4
Dont Plunge Plants Into Thick Soil
As most seeds require minimum covering, keep the
soil layer to around just 0.25 inch thick.
Planting flower seeds too deep is one of the most
common mistakes inexperienced gardeners tend to
make. Seed depth and planting time are some
critical things to work on. Its better to
consult an expert gardener in this case.
5
Nourish Young Plants Well
You can actively nourish growing plants by adding
water-soluble fertilizers in the watering can.
However, do observe that these fertilizers
sometimes come with high concentrations of
chemical additives, which may not always be the
preferred choice for young plants. As a
replacement, you can also go organic with slow
affecting but healthier compost, manure or fish
fertilizers. A home-brewed manure tea is another
wise option with good health effects. Slower
processing organic foods may not be able to keep
up pace with your fast and active growing young
plants, but they can provide a long-lasting
healthier soil environment that would be able to
benefit future flower generations.
6
Keep Out Weeds At All Costs
The nature and health of neighboring plants
influences the life of young plants greatly from
a small age. One such species are weeds, which
should not be tolerated at all costs. Weeds steal
away all the essential nutrients and water from
plants and leave them in a bad state. No matter
how much you protect your lawn and plants, but
weeds always tend to find a way back in.
Therefore, it does not matter how much time it
takes, you need to pull out these unwelcomed
invaders thoroughly on regular basis.
7
Extra Care At The Seedling Stage
Once the seeds sprout, you need to go in with
extra care as the plant is most vulnerable at
this stage. Keep the soil moist, but dont rush
into fertilizing until you see two healthy
leaves. Fertilizing newly sprouted seeds is like
fork feeding a baby, it would not go well and
could be harmful.
