An FIR has been lodged against entities alleged
to be involved in illegal beach mining by an
organization called Meenavar Viduthalai Iyakkam.
The organization submitted a petition in the
District Police Office in Tuticorin district
seeking immediate action to stop illegal
activities.

Recently, there have been illegal sand mining
allegations against VV Minerals India, the
largest beach sand mining company in the country.
District collector Ashish Kumar had earlier
carried out a raid at a companys warehouse but
found nothing. It was later revealed that the
district collector may have been working with the
competitors of VV Minerals India. Following this
incident, Ashish Kumar was transferred to another
location.

With many allegations surfacing, the state
government has imposed a temporary ban on sand
mining activities. This move brings a greater
loss to VV Minerals and other sand beach mining
companies. While the investigation team is
looking in to the matter, no evidence has been
found to suggest any illegal activity on the
companys behalf.

VV Mineral Vaikundarajan, who founded VV Minerals
India in the late 1980s, extended his support to
the investigating committee and assured that the
company has been working within legal boundaries.
He further called all the allegations as baseless
and stated that the scam is an intelligent plot
by the business rivals to harm the companys
reputation.
