Native mobile apps are a fast-growing industry.

has a built-in congestion-avoidance algorithm,
which typically overreacts to packet loss and
delay events, dropping throughput quickly and
thus leaving a lot of available network capacity
"on the table." TCP lacks forward error
correction, and therefore relies on packet
retransmission any time the packet is lost or
arrives out of order. TCP is agnostic to the
underlying network type, and cannot adjust its
behavior to the network type  be it a wired
Ethernet, WiFi, 3G, or 4G/LTE.
