WeSchool students recently visited Sweden to
understand the innovation systems under
India-Sweden Innovation Accelerator (ISIA)
programme. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director of
Welingkar Institute stated, Our students have
gotten exposed to the latest international
developments in the fields of renewable energy
and a detailed picture of the green energy space
in India. Such projects will open new career
opportunities for them.

On ISIA Programme
Uday Salunkhe says that ISIA is a part of
intergovernmental cooperation between India and
Sweden in the area of new and renewable energy
technology. The programme focuses on the business
of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Companies from the two nations will share
technology, expertise and innovation as per the
specifications of Indian ecosystem. This will
boost bilateral trade and business opportunities
in the space as well as mitigate energy
challenges faced by us, explains Uday Salunkhe.

Welingkars Involvement With ISIA
Earlier this year, the ISIA was looking for
suitable business partners and research
assistance in India. Welingkar emerged as an
appropriate choice, explains Uday Salunkhe. He

between India and Sweden.

Recent initiatives Undertaken At Welingkar
WeSchool hosted a design innovation workshop with
MIT Media labs this year. The workshop saw pan
India participation. Another initiative was
InterDesign 2014 where industrial design experts
worked under the core theme of Humanizing a
Metropolis. Finally, Global Peace Initiative
was another initiative promoting global peace as
we commemorated the lives lost in the 26/11
terror attacks in Mumbai, concluded Uday
Salunkhe.
