The NEWS

• ZAMBEZI Portland Cement surpassed its annual
  cement production capacity by over 100,000 tonnes
  last year to 473,985 tonnes due to increased
  demand for the building material.
• The cement factory annual production capacity is
  360,000 tonnes.Company Chairman Rajan Mahtani
  said in Masaiti recently when ZPC handed over 71
  houses to families relocated following the
  setting up of a lime plant in Senior Chief
  Chiwalas area.

The installed capacity of the plant is 1,000
tonnes per day or 360,000 tonnes per annum. I am
glad to announce that the company produced
473,985 tonnes of cement during 2014 due to
effective chemical mix and production methods
adopted by the company.

Meanwhile
The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) has awarded
ZPC with a ZS ISO 90012008 certification that
recognises firms successful establishment and
implementation of quality management
systems.This is no mean achievement and indeed
it is a milestone for both ZABS and ZPC, ZABS
chairman David Nama said at the handover of the
certificate.

Factory situated in Ndola, the second largest
city in Zambia which is also known as the Zambian
Industrial Capital. The firm started operations
in 2009, breaking a long-standing monopoly in the
cement supplying sector in Zambia where the lack
of product and its high cost were seriously
affecting the construction and mining
industries.??The ZPCL plant has a current
production of 1350 MT of 42.5N cement per day in
conformity with the international standards.
