  • Billed Fee Support
  • The system now supports billed loan fees on
    closed end, open end, and line of credit loans
    that do not accrue late charges or interest and
    that are collected during loan payments.
  • Billed fees differ from regular fees in that they
    are not posted as advances and therefore do not
    affect the principal balance of the loan. Rather,
    they are fees that are due in addition to the
    regular payment that, when collected, are posted
    to a General Ledger account.

  • This release contains the first of several
    enhancements to support Commercial Services, a
    new Symitar system feature that will enable
    credit unions to maintain and analyze commercial
    accounts (accounts for businesses, rather than
    individuals).

  • Report Generator Call Subroutine Functionality
  • The Report Generator software has been enhanced
    with the capability to call a subroutine specfile
    from within another specfile.
  • Subroutine specfiles should not be used to
    replace INCLUDE files and procedure calls. There
    is a large amount of overhead involved to set up
    a subroutine specfile for execution.
  • Validation Specfile Enhancement
  • VALIDATEFIELDSET
  • can be used in Report Generator validation
    specfiles. This command allows you to set the
    values in up to 30 fields, besides the field that
    the validation specfile is currently running on.

  • Report Generator Enhancments (cont.)
  • Shared Branching Custom Forms
  • now supports the printing of custom checks and
    receipts in conjunction with the Shared Branching
    (SB) teller transaction. This works the same way
    as custom checks and receipts work in Teller
    Transactions, but the file layout is different
    and the Shared Branching transaction uses a
    different specfile (SHAREDBRANCH.CUSTOMFORMS).

  • Statement Generation Enhancements
  • new california law requires credit card
    statements sent to cardholders in the state of
    California on or after July 1, 2002, to contain a
    warning about making only minimum payments.
  • The law also requires a disclosure concerning the
    length of time it will take to pay off a credit
    card balance and the total cost of paying the
    balance when only the minimum payment is made.

  • Statement Generation has been enhanced to include
    a summary section. The summary section prints a
    list of all the share and loan balances as of the
    statement date and follows all other printed
    pages.
