• Enacted by the Florida Legislature and signed
  into law in 2003
• Designates transportation facilities and services
  of statewide and interregional significance
• Fundamental shift in developing and investing in
  transportation facilities and services

• Includes Floridas most important highways, rail
  and water transportation corridors
• Key airports, seaports and passenger and freight
  terminals are also part
• SIS carries 99 of commercial air passengers and
  72 of all truck traffic on the state highway
  system

• 100 Million appropriation by the 2004 Florida
  Legislature to fund 36 SIS projects
• Provide immediate relief and reduce delays on
  connections to airports, seaports and terminals

• Will pay pre-qualified/trained/certified tow
  operators 2,500 - 3,500 incentive if clearance
  can be done within 90 minutes after receiving
  Florida Highway Patrols request.
• Towers will be penalized 10.00 per minutes if
  clearance takes longer than 180 minutes.
