Introduction

• Hi, thanks for coming in. Great weather we are
  having, eh? How are your classes. Well, thanks
  for taking the time to meet with us today. Well,
  my name is James Ferolo and I work for Bradley
  University. You have been selected as a candidate
  for our current round of testing on our new
  website. Your experience and knowledge of Bradley
  is one of the reasons why you were selected. We
  are very interested in hearing your opinions and
  you should know that there are no wrong answers
  to any of the questions we ask. The entire
  session should take about 30 minutes to get
  through. We are going to be videotaping the
  session. You should know that the tapes are for
  analysis only and will allow me to spend time
  listening to you instead of taking notes. A
  couple of other developers in our class will take
  some time to review the tapes, but they wont be
  distributed beyond that.
• The product we have made is designed specifically
  for people like you and we need to find out what
  is working well and what isnt. We have just
  started to put the thing together, so we should
  be able to incorporate your feedback. However,
  some parts of the app. May not be working as well
  as others. Just remember that you cant do
  anything wrong during the course of review.

Starting out.

• We are going to spend some time talking about
  your uses of the web and other interactive
  applications. We will then take a look at the
  application and ask you to use different parts of
  it. It is really important for you to narrate
  your thoughts and actions when you are using the
  app.
• Before we get started I need to read you a
  statement of informed consent. This is a listing
  of your rights as a participant.
• You may stop at any time
• You can ask questions anytime
• You can leave at anytime
• We are not trying to deceive you in any way
• Your answers are confidential

• How many hours a week do you use the web?
• Of that time, how much time do you spend on the
  Bradley website?
• What types of apps do you use on the web?

Starting Out

• Okay, so lets turn the monitor on and take a
  look at the application, but we need to talk a
  bit about the process, first.
• You are testing the application, we are not
  testing you.
• If anything seems broken, please let us know, or
  if something looks good to you, let us know.
• Try to be truthful. Dont worry about hurting
  anyones feelings. We need to know exactly what
  you think.
• Does this make sense to you?
