ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Sixth International Conference on
High Temperature Ceramic Matrix Composites
(HTCMC-6)
Ceramic matrix composites are enabling materials
for a number of applications in aerospace, power
generation, ground transportation, nuclear,
environmental and chemical industries where
demanding reliable performance at high
temperatures is critically needed. Tremendous
progress has been made in technology development,
manufacturing and commercialization of some of
these materials all over the world. However,
significant challenges still remain to further
develop and improve the properties of these
materials for maximum utility and widespread use.
This is the main driving force for holding HTCMC
conferences on regular intervals around the globe
and bringing together academicians and
researchers in various disciplines to share
knowledge and exchange views for useful
industrial applications of composite
materials. The 6th International Conference on
High Temperature Ceramic Matrix Composites
(HTCMC-6) will be held at the India Habitat
Centre, New Delhi, India from September 4-7,
2007. HTCMC-6 follows highly successful previous
conferences in this series HTCMC-1 held at
Bourdeux (France, 1993), HTCMC-2 at Santa Barbara
(USA, 1995), HTCMC-3 at Osaka (Japan, 1998),
HTCMC-4 at Munich (Germany, 2001), and HTCMC-5 at
Seattle (USA, 2004).
September 4-7, 2007 India Habitat Centre New
Delhi, India
Supported by (tentative) The American Ceramic
Society Ceramic Society of Japan European Ceramic
Society Korean Ceramic Society German Ceramic
Society French Society of Composite
Materials Chinese Ceramic Society Indian Ceramic
Society Sardar Patel University Materials

SCOPE
Like previous conferences the proposed conference
will cover all areas related to science,
technology, and applications of high temperature
ceramic matrix composites along with emerging
trends in design and manufacturing of composites.
This will include (but not limited to)
fabrication and manufacturing technology for
structural and multifunctional composites,
interfacial characterization, thermomechanical
testing and quality control, joining and repair
of composites, design codes and databases, and
structural rehabilitation as well as various
engineering applications. New special
applications including aeronautics and space,
power generation, ground transportation, nuclear,
environmental, biomedical, ballistic protection,
etc.. In addition, nanoceramics, nanocomposites,
eco-composites and smart concept in composites
will be covered. The conference language will be
English. All original contributions will be
arranged in the form of plenary lectures, special
evening lectures, invited talks, oral and poster
presentations.
