And   Llanrumney Youth Inclusion Project
23
  • Music is an important part of the
  • childrens development and allows
  • them to express themselves

24
Purpose
  • To provide the children of the Novinki
Orphanage with a music room for recreation
    and therapy
  • To provide musical instruments and
    equipment

25
Purpose continued
  • They would develop wider experiences
outside their normal habitats and in so doing
widen their appreciation for others needs and
    requirements
  • There would be an opportunity for this group
to be acknowledged within their own community,
    in a positive manner

26
Purpose continued
  • The young people would gain personal
    development skills and experience the
difficulties that other young people of a
    similar age face
  • The young people involved would develop new
    skills throughout the refurbishment stages,
which in turn would develop self esteem and
    confidence

27
FUNDING
  • Everyone involved needed to raise at least
    4000 in total
  • The young people were involved in
organising a number of fundraising events
  • Due to the nature of this project the media
were hard pressed to insinuate that this was a
    holiday for the bad boys

28

Four days later the team leaves to join it
37
  • Stormy seas saw the portacabin stuck in Gdansk
  • Customs clearance in Klaipeda was slow
  • No travel after dark with wide loads

    clearance from Central Customs

38
Despite everything, the portacabin reaches its
final destination
