Goals and Objectives
  • We will review legal requirements as board
    members.
  • Review the MYSA requirements for board members.
  • Suggest strategies to aid in the administration
    of your soccer program.

Legal Requirements for Club Board
  • President
  • Treasurer

President
  • Shall have general management of the business of
    the corporation.
  • When present shall preside over the meetings of
    the board and the members.
  • Shall see that the decisions of the board are
    carried out.
  • Shall execute and deliver in the name of the
    corporation all of the contracts relating to the
    business of the corporation.
  • Shall maintain the records of the board.

Treasurer
  • Shall keep accurate financial records for the
    corporation.
  • Deposit all funds in the name of and to the
    credit of the corporation.
  • Disperse corporate funds as ordered by the board.
  • Upon request provide financial report to the
    president and board.

Risk Manager
  • Responsible for establishing and administering
    the club risk management program.
  • Insure that all registered adults complete the
    MYSA Informed Consent/Disclosure Statement.
  • Shall establish club policies on field/goal
    safety.
  • Shall understand the limitations of the MYSA
    medical and liability insurance policies.
  • Liaison between the club and State Risk Manager

Registrar
  • Maintain club registration database and submit
    data using MYSA format.
  • Works with the club Risk Manager to make sure
    every registered adult has an informed consent
    form on file annually.
  • Communicate with club administrators and coaching
    personnel.
  • Maintain club directory on the MYSA web site.

Referee Assignor/Coordinator
  • Must designate a Registered Assignor
  • Responsible for assigning appropriate referees
    for each game.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records of all
    assignments and reporting them to the State
    Referee Administrator (SRA).
  • Typically the liaison between the the SRC, club
    and the referees.

Field Coordinator
  • Maintain club field directory on the MYSA web
    site
  • Assign fields and times after receipt of MYSA
    schedule.
  • Liaison between the club and the entity owning
    the fields.
  • Responsible to obtain all permits and
    certificates of insurance as required.

Promotions Coordinator
  • Liaison between the club, MYSA and MYSA sponsors.
  • Must maintain and accurately record sponsorship
    activity.

Corporate Status
  • File Articles of Incorporation and maintain
    current copies with the Secretary of State.
  • Annual Registration with the Secretary of State.
  • Conduct at least Annual Membership Meeting.
  • Must have an address, not a Post Office Box.
  • Forms and information are available at the
    Secretary of States web site at
    www.sos.state.mn.us.

Affiliate Member Status
  • 2.107 Good Standing
  • To remain in good standing, a member of the MYSA
    must be current in his, her or its financial
    obligations to the MYSA and must be in compliance
    with all other requirements of the articles of
    incorporation, bylaws, policies, and rules of the
    MYSA and USSF.
  • 2.108 Suspension of Membership
  • Any member of the MYSA not in good standing may
    be suspended by the MYSA or as otherwise provided
    in its policies and rules. A suspended member
    shall lose all benefits of membership, including
    any rights to vote, participate in any MYSA
    activity, and any other rights that may exist or
    be granted to members.
  • 2.111 Comity
  • All members of the MYSA shall recognize
    suspensions and sanctions of any MYSA member by
    the MYSA, USSF, or any other state association.

    corporation and are reasonable, no liability for
    actions taken.
