1
Vehicle Registration Renewal Has Changed In The
Lone Star State.
2
The vehicle registration renewal process was
modernized in 2014. We must understand this new
law to stay clear of problems.
3
We will still need to get our motor vehicles
inspected and pay the State for our vehicle
registration yearly, but both are going to be
presented as part of a single sticker on your
windshield thats the short version. This is how
it works.
4
How's Vehicle Registration Different?
5
Vehicle registration renewal is the same as
always.
6
However, your registration is now coupled with
your safety inspection.
7
If your inspection is in-date, you can go through
vehicle registration as usual.
8
You may then use the sticker to replace both
stickers (automobile registration and safety
inspection) which are on your windshield.
9
Your following State of Texas inspection will not
be due again until immediately before your next
vehicle registration renewal, so you may manage
to save a few bucks.
10
My Texas Inspection Will be Due The Same
Month/Before The Vehicle Registration Renewal.
11
If your vehicle registration renewal is due in
the same month as the safety inspection, inspect
the vehicle first.
12
Once the inspection is online with the State of
Texas, you may get your vehicle registration
renewal sticker and then use it to replace both
your safety inspection and vehicle registration
stickers.
13
It's different when your safety inspection is due
prior to your vehicle registration renewal.
14
When it is due, have the automobile safety
inspected.
15
You won't get a sticker, so keep the report in
your glove compartment.
16
You need to use it to show police officers that
you've an up-to-date safety inspection if you're
stopped because of another thing.
17
When your vehicle registration is due, register
your vehicle as normal and use the sticker to
replace both the prior ones.
18
The following year, you'll need to get your
automobile inspected and in the state's databases
within a three month period prior to renewing
your vehicle registration.
19
Where can I go for more answers?
20
A web site has been made available from the Lone
Star State that can answer any inquiries about
the new system.
