Comment on Compulsory Green Training for
Electricians My Opinion!
  • Is it Possible?
  • Yes if the regulators support it, especially with
    new COAG national licensing scheme.
  • Is it Necessary?
  • Yes and no.
  • Yes because it would be nice
  • No because the majority of electricians are
    employed in the construction industry as
    employees who install to specifications.

Comment on Compulsory Green Training for
Electricians My Opinion!
  • Would it be Supported?
  • By Government - No
  • By Contractors Largely no
  • By NECA Probably no
  • I would argue compulsory CPD on electrical safety
    would be more important to manage both workplace
    and public risk.
  • Compulsory retraining suggests vast expense and
    increased burden on employers
  • Green training within apprenticeships would seem
    a more sensible solution.
