• American.
• The class will have four groups with four
• members. All of you will research the person,
• and all of you will share it with the class.
• Two of you will create a poster, poem, or song.
• Two of you will write a story about the person.

a doctor, member of the Peace Corps, and first

Ida B. Wells Born in Mississippi in 1862 Was a
slave before the Civil War and later, became a
teacher Refused to give up her seat on a train
Died in 1931
Frederick Douglass Born February 1818 Was a slave
and escaped to freedom in 1838 Was a writer and
abolitionist Died of a heart attack on February
20, 1895
