Title: Basic Types of Solenoid Valves

1
Basic Types of Solenoid Valve
2
A solenoid valve is an electrically operated
valve. These valves are used to control the flow
of gases or liquids. They range in complexity
from a simple on-off valve to 4-way reversing
valves used on heat pump systems. In most
industrial applications, there are five types of
solenoid valve Two-way solenoid valves,
three-way solenoid valves, four-way solenoid
valves, direct-mount solenoid valves and manifold
valves.
3
Two-way solenoid valves It normally has one
inlet and one outlet, and is used to permit and
shut off fluid flow.
4
Three-way solenoid valves It has three pipe
connections and two orifices. They are commonly
used to alternately apply pressure to an exhaust
pressure from a valve actuator or a single acting
cylinder.
5
Four-way Solenoid Valves These types has four
or five pipe connections, commonly called ports.
One is a pressure inlet port, and two others are
cylinder ports providing pressure to the
double-acting cylinder, and one/two outlets
exhaust pressure from the cylinders.
6
Direct-mount solenoid valves These are two-way,
three-way and four-way solenoid valves, designed
for gang mounting into different quantities.
These are standard solenoid valves whose pipe
connections and mounting configuration have been
replaced by a mounting configuration.
7
Manifold Valves It consists of a matrix of
solenoid valves mounted in modules on a skid with
adjustable legs along one direction. The number
of valve depends on the elements to be connected
and on the function.
