  • The company is committed to providing a work
    environment free of harassment. Company policy
    prohibits sexual harassment, and harassment based
    on pregnancy, childbirth or related medical
    conditions, race, religious creed, color,
    national orientation or any other basis protected
    by federal, state or local law or ordinance or
    regulation. All such harassment is unlawful. The
    Companys anti-harassment policy applies to all
    persons involved in the operation of the Company
    and prohibits harassment by any employee of the
    company, including supervisors and co-workers.

Why do we provide training?
  • We are legally required to provide this training.
  • As the company grows our work force becomes more
    diverse.
  • Litigation is on the rise. More then 27,000 suits
    were filed in 2007 resulting in more then 65
    million dollars in settlements. Of that only 1600
    resulted in successful closures.
  • We want you to understand your role as a CFI
    employee to promote a safe and harassment free
    environment for your fellow staff and help us
    avoid legal issues.

Physical Harassment
  • Physical Harassment includes
  • Unwanted touching
  • Blocking of normal movement
  • Interfering with work because of sex
  • Assault

Retaliatory Harassment
  • Retaliation for having reported a case of
    harassment to management or a supervisor.

Compensatory Harassment
  • Compensatory Harassment includes
  • Threats or demands to submit sexual requests as
    a condition of continued employment.
  • The offer for employment benefits or advancement
    in return for sexual favors.

If you have been harassed
  • The company will not retaliate against you for
    filing a complaint and will not tolerate or
    permit retaliation by management, employees or
    co-workers.
  • The company encourages all employees to report
    any incidents of harassment so that complaints
    can be quickly and fairly resolved.
  • Please provide a written complaint to your
    supervisor or management immediately.
  • Include the who, what, where and when
  • Note any witnesses who were present

Your rights
  • Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
    and the California / Florida / Hawaii Department
    of Fair Employment and Housing investigate and
    prosecute complaints of prohibited harassment in
    employment.
  • If you think you have been harassed of that you
    have been retaliated against for resisting or
    complaining, you may file a complaint with the
    appropriate agency. The nearest office is listed
    in the telephone book.
