Introduction
  • "Rainforests cover less than two percent of the
    Earth's surface, yet they are home to some 50 to
    70 percent of all life forms on our planet. The
    rain forests are quite simply, the richest,
    oldest, most productive and most complex
    ecosystems on Earth"

Rainforest Prompt
Mission You were hired by Save Our Planet to be
the spokesperson for the protection of the
tropical rainforest. You must persuade global
companies and organizations that destruction of
the rainforests has a negative impact on the
world. Method You must convince global companies
of the dangers of destruction of the rainforest
by writing a persuasive letter to a company or
politician. To prepare for the prompt, you must
gather facts from Lungs of the World concerning
animals, plants, indigenous people, environmental
concerns and /or facts that show the rainforest
is a unique biome that must be saved. As you
read, you are to take notes. These notes will be
used to form the paragraphs of your
prompt. Mandatory format Your prompt must have
an introductory paragraph, three or more
supportive paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph.
