Physical Features
  • An average prairie dogs size is 12-16 in. long.
  • In the united states prairie dogs are found
    primarily found west of the Mississippi River.
  • They are like little dogs with black tails.

Habitat
  • Lives in burrows in dry prairies with short grass
  • The burrow looks like a volcanoes
  • They are found in desert like lands

The Diet
  • The black tailed prairie dog eats seeds, stems,
    roots, and leaves of forbs and grasses
  • It gets all the water it needs from plants it
    eats
  • They eat most of the plants around its burrow

Reproduction
