The first thing we need to do Log in to
FirstClass. If your Icon looks like this, then
you need to update. To log on-use your ID tag-
Ex. blh1354.If you changed your password
then you must remember it. If not, it is
dekalb.

If you were successful, simply wait
until further instruction.
Or you can read messages or get rid of
those annoying red flags so that you can tell
when a new message arrives. Red flags can be
added or removed from messages by holding down
the ltCTRLgt key and clicking once on the flag.

If you were not, then, using the notepad
at your computer, write down your name - first,
middle initial, and last - (as they appeared on
your contract) along with the last 4 digits of
your social security number and give to Ms.
Heller so that we may add you before designing
the page.

Now online for use at home. Send Ms.
Heller an email and have Spectrum installed in
your classroom. Going to the lab-let the Media
Center know and we can set up your Internet
course of study through our Visual Search for
ease of use by all (plus it will be there for as
long as you wish can simply be updated.)

on any project at anytime. Just sign up in Ms.
Hellers office in the media center. Our
collaboration form is on the web and we base our
skills on this guide.

How to Use a FirstClass Calendar Always open
to a weekly view of events. Buttons at the top
of the calendar window allow you to change to
view by month, day or week. A Calendar event is
an item associated with a date and time.

How to Use a FirstClass CalendarDouble-cli
ck on the day of the event or use the New
Calendar Event button to fill in the details of
the event. Description, start time, duration,
category, sensitivity, and even color can be
assigned to each event. Repeats, Participants,
and Reminders can all be set up.

Designing the FirstClass Home Page
The simplest way for placing content on the web
is through use of the FC template. 1. From
your FC desktop, open DeKalb Discussions--Software
--FirstClass Updates. Within this conference,
open the Updated Classroom Home Page Template. 2.
Update FirstClass Settings A. Double Click on
the Attachment labeled "DeKalb.fc" B. Once the
attachment has transferred, you will be prompted
with a message indicating the updates to take
place. Press the button labeled "UPDATE".

TO CREATE YOUR CLASSROOM HOME PAGE 1. Select
"File", choose Open -gt Home Page". 2. From
inside the Home Page window, select "Message"
from the menu bar and choose New Document
Special -gt Classroom Home Page" 3. In the upper
portion of the window, fill in the fields. 4.
Click on the button identified with Click here
to change the name of this home page. In the
Information window that appears, change the Name
to Home Page 5. Close the Information window,
click on Save. 6. The lower portion of the
home page window accepts text. You may Format
Text using options under the Edit menu, and you
can add images and files. 7. The Text Field
labeled Assignments is LIMITED to 375 Characters.

To view your classroom Home page on the Internet
open up Internet Explorer and type in the
following address (url) in the address
bar http//fc.dekalb.k12.ga.us/userid In
your classroom where your Email Preferences may
have been set up to default to your
first_mi_lastname as your default Email, then
your Homepage Address would be
http//fc.dekalb.k12.ga.us/first_mi_lastname.
